Peanut Butter Attack

Teen charged with assault after wiping peanut butter on a fellow student

A Washington teen was charged with assault after he allegedly smeared peanut butter on the forehead of a fellow student who is allergic to nuts.

Joshua Hickson, 19, wiped the peanut butter on a guy sitting next to him at lunch in Wenatchee High School after learning about the student's allergy, authorities told the Wenatchee World newspaper.

When the student told Hickson to stop, he allegedly got more peanut butter and again wiped it on the victim, police said.

The victim did not suffer an allergic reaction. If convicted of the misdemeanor charge, Hickson faces up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

"The incident turned out to be fairly innocuous, but could have been fatal," Wenatchee Police Office Steve Evitt noted in his police report.
