Shot Three Times and Survived

The Palo Alto Humane Society is teaming up with Mountain View police in hopes of finding who shot a cat earlier this month.

The cat, which is a female between two and three years old, was shot three times with a small caliber handgun.   It is recovering from surgery which included a leg amputation.

The Palo Alto Humane Society paid for the surgeries to save her life. They are offering a $500 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Someone found the kitty on May 7 near College Avenue.  Police think the shooting happened near by.

Mountain View police say its detectives are actively investigating the case, which constitutes felony animal abuse and can carry a prison sentence plus fines.

The MVPD is asking anyone with any information about this crime to contact them at 650-903-6344.
