Food sorting at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is a rewarding experience and a great chance to meet other Bay Area volunteers.
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano was established in 1975 to reduce food waste and feed hungry people.
They currently assist over 98,000 people each month through direct distributions and local agency members.
Volunteers will be sorting and boxing donated food in our warehouse sorting room. Volunteers check food for quality, discard products that are old or badly damaged, organize by categories and box for distribution.
This is a hands on project that produces immediate results. The food will be ready for distribution at the end of your 3 hour shift.
Come by and help us alleviate hunger in the Bay Area!
