Marin County Supervisor Dies During Ski Trip

The Marin County Board of Supervisors will take a moment to honor Charles McGlashan during their meeting this morning.

McGlashan died on Sunday of an apparent heart attack while in Lake Tahoe.

The 49-year-old began serving on the Board of Supervisors in 2005, representing the 3rd district which includes Mill Valley, Marin City, Belvedere, Strawberry, Sausalito, Tam Valley and Tiburon. He is best remembered for his environmental leadership on the board.

McGlashan helped form the SMART (Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit) commuter train project, the Marin Economic Forum and the Marin Energy Authority.

Fellow SMART board member Deborah Fudge posted on Facebook, "I am shocked and so sad for all of us. He and I traveled to Japan together for SMART. He was SO proud of Marin Clean Energy. I will miss my best buddy. We love you Charles."

McGlashan was born in Hillsborough and received an MBA from Stanford in 1991.
