Wilde Salome is a reinterpretation of one of playwright Oscar Wilde's most controversial works. Salomewas written by Wilde in 1891 and tells the Biblical story of Salome who asks for the head of John the Baptist as a reward for dancing the dance of the seven veils.
Pacino's version is described as a tale of lust, greed and one woman's scorn.
Wednesday night's premiere was a benefit event for the GLBT Historical Society. It commemorated the 130th anniversary of Oscar Wilde's visit to San Francisco.
