64th Annual Orchid Exposition

The 64th Annual Pacific Orchid Exposition will take place February 26-28 at Fort Mason in San Francisco.  This is the largest orchid show in the United States hosted by the San Francisco Orchid Society (SFOS) an organization’s mission to foster the culture and cultivation of orchids, promoting orchid education to the public. Starting Friday & Saturday the orchid exposition will be open from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

This year’s theme will be “A Legacy of Orchids” as orchids are one of the oldest plant species dating back thousands of years ago. Their importance in society and all throughout history have been noted in the Aras Pacis of Ancient Rome and in the Materia Medica, one of the oldest known Chinese pharmaceutical text.  Orchids represent a symbol of refinement, wildness, and exotic discoveries as well as it’s object for beauty.
