27th Annual Coastal Clean Up

Every year on the third Saturday in September, people volunteer to remove trash and recyclables from California beaches, lakes, creeks, and waterways. Volunteers come together to keep our coast free of debris by celebrating  California Coastal Clean Up Day starting from 9am to noon. Last year alone, participants picked up more than 53,000 pounds of trash from local creeks in Santa Clara County.

With creeks running dry from the drought, trash accumulates and gets buried in waterways for years. Volunteers make a huge impact by putting on gloves to stop litter from entering our waters. This year, lend a helping hand and choose from any of the 47 different cleanup sites in Santa Clara County.
