Fairmont San Jose, in partnership with the Bay Area Chapter of the Pajama Program, is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Open Your Heart Pajama Drive on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Donations of new pajamas, books and monetary contributions will be welcomed in the Club Regent room and at the hotel’s auto court from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on February 24. Community members, guests and Fairmont San Jose colleagues are invited to donate as well as help sort and ship the donations that same day. A complimentary continental breakfast and heart-shaped sugar cookies will be served for volunteers and donors. Pajamas needed range in size from newborn babies to teenagers.
“Fairmont San Jose is proud to continue this important community event and celebrate our decade-long partnership with the Pajama Program of Silicon Valley,” notes Michael Musarra, General Manager. “For the past ten years it has been our pleasure to host this pajama drive which has brought thousands of sleepwear and books to children in need throughout the Santa Clara County community. In celebration of the hotel’s 30th anniversary this year, we’ve pledged a donation of 30 pajamas.”
During last year’s pajama drive, volunteers sorted and shipped over 1,200 pairs of pajamas, 180 books and raised over $4,000 to support local group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities throughout Santa Clara County including Unity Care, YWCA of Silicon Valley, Family Supportive Housing, Rebekah Children’s Services and more.

About The Pajama Program
The Pajama Program is a national non-profit organization providing comfort and love in the way of new pajamas to children-in-need and children waiting for a permanent home. They are youngsters who do not know the comforts of a mother or father to tuck them into a cozy bed and read them a bed time story.
