Home for the Holidays: Pet Adoption fees waived December 5-31 at Oakland Animal Services

In what has become an annual tradition, Oakland Animal Services is celebrating Home for the Holidays.  Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs, cats and rabbits starting Monday, December 5th and continuing through December 31st. “With so many people taking time off from work and school, December can be a great time to adopt and get a new pet acclimated to your home and family,” explains Shelter Director Rebecca Katz. “Pets are a lifelong commitment and the holidays are a wonderful time to think about expanding your family and sharing love with a shelter pet in need.” Those who can’t adopt can still help shelter pets this holiday season. The shelter has an Amazon wish list with much needed items including snacks, toys, and cozy beds for the pets. Check out a list of all the current and wonderful adoptable pets at www.oaklandanimalservices.org.

Oakland Animal Services is Oakland’s only “open admissions” shelter.  Located at 1101 29th Avenue in Oakland, the shelter accepts all of Oakland’s homeless, injured, orphaned, unwanted, lost, abandoned and mistreated animals.  The shelter staff provide critical services to the community, sheltering thousands of Oakland’s stray animals each year and responding to animal-related calls for service in Oakland. More information, including hours and a full list of adoptable pets, can be found at www.oaklandanimalservices.org
