My New Red Shoes' Rock the Runway

My New Red Shoes’ annual fundraiser, Rock the Runway is an inspiring event to raise funds that benefit local students experiencing economic hardship. Tickets are available at www.rocktherunway.org
My New Red Shoes (MNRS) believes that all children should have their most basic needs met (housing, food, medical care and clothing), and that they should have the opportunity to fully engage in the school experience--in the classroom and on the playground. MNRS is dedicated to improving the school attendance, educational experience and quality of life of our community's most vulnerable homeless and low-income children by closing the clothing gap. Throughout the year, My New Red Shoes partners with local schools and social service agencies to identify children and youth who would benefit the most from our services.
Students experiencing economic hardship, including immigrants, migrants and formerly trafficked youth, live in poverty and face discrimination and social isolation. Grappling to find employment, housing and food, their families or guardians do not have the resources to provide clean, well-fitting and appropriate school shoes or clothing to their children. As a result, these youth are more likely to miss school.
MNRS’ Clothing for Confidence Program closes the clothing gap which is critical to closing the opportunity and inclusion gap for these students.  We provide much needed economic relief to families already struggling to make ends meet.
