San Jose Obon Festival, a time when generations of families and friends come together and enjoy a rich cultural experience in one of the three remaining Japantowns in the United States.
There are numerous Obon Festivals happening throughout the Bay Area. San Jose Japantown’s event is a two-day festival with food booths, family entertainment, three taiko performances, and the Chidori Band to accompany the 1,200 Obon Odori performers in traditional dress while they dance in the streets.
