The Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose invites you to their new tribute to Vietnamese heritage, Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tet Festival, an exhibition to promote understanding of Vietnamese culture. The exhibition will showcase traditions, customs, and values exemplified by the annual celebration of Tet. Children and their families will immerse themselves in Vietnamese culture, gain appreciation for traditions, values, and daily experiences of people who live in Vietnam, and discover similarities and differences between their lives in the U.S. and the lives of children and families in Vietnam.
Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tet Festival is an interactive exhibit featuring different environments of the festival. You can travel through the Marketplace and select traditional flowers and faux food items to prepare for the celebration. Then return Home to pose for a family photo wearing a customary Ao Dai. Lastly, visit the Courtyard where the visitor-created fireworks burst in the night sky and signal the coming of the New Year. Experience the Tet Festival, beginning February 28th, 2015, before it travels to eight other children’s museums across the country.
