Golden State Warriors star and Team USA’s Steph Curry has a lot to celebrate.

Walnut Creek’s Sabrina Ionescu and U.S. women’s basketball eked out a 67-66 win against France to win its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in Paris.

Cal alum and goalkeeper Adrian Weinberg kept Hungary scoreless in the deciding shootout as the United States men, led by a host of Californians, defeated the Hungarians 11-8 in the bronze medal match.

Davis native and Stanford alum Fiona O’Keeffe ran her first marathon at the U.S. Olympic trials and not only won the race, but broke the trials record with a time of 2:22:10.

Team USA women’s volleyball lost to Italy in the gold medal match, but are returning home from Paris with a silver medal.

Ionescu, a former mentee of Kobe Bryant’s, embraced Vanessa Bryant and her three daughters courtside after the game.

Team USA women’s water polo lost to the Netherlands in the bronze medal match at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marks the first time since 2000 that the team had not medaled at the Olympics.

Steph Curry delivered massively for Team USA men’s basketball in the gold medal match against France. The team came out victorious with a final game score of 98-87.

The men’s basketball gold medal game turned into the Steph Curry show late in the fourth quarter.

Nikki Hiltz finished seventh with a time of 3:56.38, while Elle St. Pierre took eigth place with a time of 3:57.52 in the Olympic 1500m final.

The final round of the Olympic women’s golf competition wrapped up on Saturday. Stanford’s Rose Zhang (-5) finished tied for 8th in her final round at Le Golf National.

Clovis-born and Team USA’s Clayton Young set a season best time in Olympic marathon, coming across the finish line at 2:08:44. Young finished ninth in the 81 person field.
