Irish actor Michael Gambon, known for his portrayal of Professor Dumbledore in the “Harry Potter” franchise, died of complications of pneumonia at the age of 82, his family said Thursday.

Veteran actor Michael Gambon, who was known to many for his portrayal of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore in several of the “Harry Potter” films, has died, his publicist said Thursday. He was 82.

Following the film’s trailer release, the actor was called out for portraying the Jewish composer and the prosthetic nose he wears.

The actor took on duties during a visit to a fashion exhibit after feeling like her 2022 Met Gala dress, which is on display, didn’t look quite right.

“And he could only eat, like, an almond every day. He was so emaciated,” she shared.
