Middletown

It was March 15, 2003. The body of a young woman was discovered in a field in the town of Wallkill in the Orange County city of Middletown. She had been murdered. Her name was Megan McDonald, and she was 20 years old.

Chunk the groundhog began mysteriously nibbling at Jeff Permar’s vegetables in 2019. Now, thanks to some motion-activated cameras, Chunk and his growing family have become global sensations.

After a Delaware resident noticed his garden was being eaten by a suspicious critter, his camera set-up revealed a groundhog later named “Chunk” was taking advantage of the veggies. Now, Chunk and his family have become internet sensations. NBC10’s Tim Furlong has the story.
