California is about to take five billion steps toward preventing more renters from losing their homes, as the state formally extended its eviction moratorium through September. Scott Budman reports.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and California lawmakers agreed Friday to extend the state’s eviction moratorium until Sept. 30 and increase funding relief to tenants and landlords.
