10/1-10/3:The Giants Go for Glory, Some Ballet and a Lot of Bluegrass

The Smuin Ballet, the Giants go for glory, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

The Smuin Ballet company opens its fall season by performing "Oh, Inverted World" at the Palace of Fine Arts starting Friday night. The show was choreographed by Trey McIntyre, who is one of the most well respected in the business. His show will make its world premiere Friday night.

In case you haven't hear, the Bay Area finally has a sports team that doesn't suck. The San Francisco Giants start their push for October glory Friday night with a date with the Padres. The boys from San Diego will be in town all weekend trying to get the home boys to fall flat on their face. For the Giants its one and done to book a ticket to the post season.

San Francisco will turn a little bluegrass this weekend. Thousands of people will descend on the City for one of the largest -- not to mention one of the coolest -- festivals to hit San Francisco every year. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass returns for its tenth year to Golden Gate Park with more artists than you can possibly enjoy and more people than you can possibly count.
