924 Gilman used to be where punk fans went to go see punk bands before they got huge. Green Day aside, the the punk Mecca has played host to some of the best shows around for years. Tonight Gilman will host German punksters Wisecracker and their friends Jokes for Feelings. The party starts at 7 p.m. and goes into the wee hours of the night -- or at least 12.
Before there was Pearl Jam and maybe even Nirvana there was the Melvins. One of the original founders of the Seattle grunge scene, come to San Jose tonight at the Blank Club, 44 S Almaden Ave. at 9 p.m.
Some think comedian Brent Weinbach is disturbing but others, like HBO, think he is just flat out funny. The cable network's Andy Kaufman award winner will bring his unique brand of comedy to the The Improv, 62 S. Second St. in San Jose, tonight at 8.
