Burning Man Tickets on Sale

UPDATE 2: Tickets at the $210, $240, and $280 levels are sold out. Only tickets at the $320 level are available.

----------------------------

UPDATE: According to Burning Man's Twitter feed, they are having some technical difficulties with the ticketing page, stating, "Folks, there are NOT actually 20,000 people in front of you. Those numbers are artificially inflated. Hang tight." They are working on the problem.

----------------------------

Online ticket sales for the giant desert party, Burning Man, went on sale Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. (Pacific), and the virtual line grew ridiculously long after just a few hours.

At around 12:40 p.m., there were approximately 30,000 people ahead of me in the queue.

The appeal of getting early tickets is the slightly lower price tag (and of course, bragging rights on Twitter).

The first 9,000 tickets went for $210 each, followed by another 9,000 at $240. As the days get closer to the event, prices will go up.

Waiting until the last minute will cost you $320 each.

Burning Man takes place Aug. 29 to Sept. 5.
