Get Out This Weekend: 11/21-11/22

Hiking, rock climbing and history in the City

A GEM OF A HIKE: Hit the trail at Tilden Park in Berkeley for a Saturday mid-morning hike. Traverse the trail's network of eucalyptus and Monterey pine groves with a group of fellow nature lovers. Wear your most comfy hiking boots and meet up with the folks from Absolute Adventures at the park at 11 a.m.

CLIMB THE WALLS: Don't let the threat of rain stop you from pursuing some outdoor fun on Sunday. You'll feel like you're outside when you're rock climbing at Planet Granite's new indoor facility in Belmont. With 20,000 square feet, a 50-foot lead area and cracks to rival Yosemite's, you'll be sure to get your climbing fix. All levels are welcome. Check with Absloute Adventures on how to sign up.

WALK AND LEARN: Get a history lesson and some exercise on a guided tour through the City with Urban Trek USA. Learn about San Francisco's colorful past, including Union Square, Chinatown, Jackson Square, North Beach, Telegraph Hill and the Ferry Building. Reservations are required for the walk, which starts at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
