Get Out This Weekend: 12/5 – 12/6

STREET SWEEP BIKE RACE: Zip through San Francisco on two wheels -- for a good cause. Join hundreds of other riders for the event as you stop at grocery stores and markets throughout the City, collecting food for charity. The Street Sweep Bike Race race starts at noon from the Bow & Arrow Sculpture on the Embarcadero. Be the first to make it to the finish line with the items on your list and you can win. Heck, even if you're not the first to cross the finish line, you'll still be a winner for helping a those in need.

RESTORE NATIVE PLANTS: Volunteer with other nature lovers to help improve sensitive habitat for tidal marsh species at the San Pablo Bay Wildlife Refuge. Just wear layers, bring your lunch and a ready-to-work attitude. The refuge will provide the tools. Reservations are required for the Saturday event, which runs from 9 - 11 a.m.

TOUR A MONARCH GROVE: Take a tour of a state designated insect preserve at Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz, where thousands of monarch butterflies will be returning in the fall. A naturalist leads the  tours, which are free and run from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. and then again at 2 p.m.
