Give Mom a Garden Instead of a Rose

The idea of sending Mom a dozen roses for Mother's Day has been  spruced up by the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy.

In honor of the holiday, patrons can adopt a rose in the San Jose  Heritage Rose Garden as a gift for Mom.

For $50, individuals will receive potpourri from the rose garden,  a chocolate truffle from Schurra's Fine Confection, a handmade bar of bee's  wax soap from the Sacred Bee, and a personalized inscription for Mom  installed next to her rose for a year.
