Prince is coming to Oakland, and baby, he's ready to roar.
The Purple One just announced two dates at Oakland's Oracle Arena, and they're coming fast. The concerts will be Feb. 21 and 23, with tickets going on sale this Friday. On the heels (literally) of six slam bang shows in New York, Prince's "Welcome 2 America" tour makes its West Coast debut in the house of Ellison.
It won't be quiet: Prince has been stunning crowds with his terrific shows lately, proving that others may come and go, but Mr. Nelson is still among the pre-eminent live acts of out generation. It won't be cheap, either: Tickets for the Oakland shows start at $49.50, and they go as high as $250.
It's been more than 30 years since we first saw Prince (and, if you remember, we saw a lot of him) on an album cover. East Coast fans say he's still got it. Now, he's ready to shake it, for you.
