Sharks Host Block Party at the Tank

Sunday's noon game will be aired on NBC Bay Area

The San Jose Sharks begin Round Two of their latest effort to take home the Stanley Cup this weekend at the Shark Tank and the team is throwing a block party to get the fans ready.

The Sharks are asking the fans to turn out early Friday for a rally that will start at 5 p.m. on Autumn Street between Santa Clara Street and St. John Street.

There you will find a performance by Street Drum Corps, carnival games, giveaways, face painting, and lots and lots of teal.  Our new relatives at Comcast SportsNet will be broadcasting "Chronicle Live" from 5-6 p.m.

Of course their will also be food and drinks. Food will be provided by the Aramark Grill and there will be a benefit beer booth set up with proceeds from the sales going to the Sharks Foundation.

The Western Conference Semifinal has the Sharks taking on their longtime nemesis, the Detroit Red Wings. It's the third playoff meeting between the two teams in the past five years.

The first two games will be at home. The punk drops Friday at 7 p.m. and then again Sunday at noon.  The Sunday game will be on NBC Bay Area.

Go Sharks!
