Spooking Ain't Cheap

Stern Grove is not all about free music. In fact it's not all about cheap fun at all.

Just in time for Halloween, the San Francisco park will once again transform itself into a goblin's wonderland, with a haunted house, hay rides and more.

The cash-strapped San Francisco Recreation and Park Department unveiled the feature last year and people had a howling good time. But this year, fear-induced laughs are going to cost a bit more.

The department has raised prices for the Oct. 22 event from $5 to $8. Not a cost inihibitive increase but still enough to cover the department's costs to keep the grove clean and maintaining the City's open spaces.
