Tiger Woods will reportedly be back in the Bay Area in early October.

Tiger Woods will be on the prowl near his old stomping grounds in October.

The controversial golfer has reportedly agreed to play the Frys.com Open at the CordeValle Golf Club near San Jose.

The tournament takes place Oct. 6-9 at the golf course about 20 minutes away from San Jose and close to wear Woods played his college golf at Stanford.

A source close to Woods confirmed the report to the Associated Press but the golfer had not publicly spoken about the tournament.

Last week he did say however that he would like to add tournaments to his playing schedule to expand his limited time on the tour this year because of leg injuries.
