7/1: Comedy, Sangria, and Cuckoo's Nest

Kick off July with these fun events

ARJ BARKER: "Flight of the Conchords" fans will know Arj Barker as Bret and Jemaine's friend Dave, while others may recognize him from "Last Comic Standing." This talented comedian will be preforming at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.50 and there's a two-beverage minimum.

A TASTE OF MOROCCO: What's not to like about cheap sangria? For a recession-friendly date, head over to Morocco's Restaurant in San Jose for $4 glasses of the sweet, fruit-laced wine. The restaurant also promises a "surprise," so be sure to stop by between 5 p.m and 11 p.m.

KEN KESEY'S CLASSIC: If working during a heat wave is making you feel a little, well, crazy, check out "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" at the SF Playhouse. Based on the classic 1960's novel by Ken Kesey, this play explores the lives of the inhabitants of a mental hospital. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $40.
