Academy Report: Moss Room Unveils Dinner Tonight

Golden Gate Park: The last chapter of the Academy of Sciences opening extravaganza has finally arrived, as the Moss Room will debut dinner service tonight. Going forward, the evolution of the Moss Room should be something interesting to behold. While Loretta Keller and Charles Phan lurk behind the scenes, ex-Coco500 toque Justin Simoneaux is the day-to-day head of the kitchen, and the fresh, simple Coco500 influence is clear on the menu. At the same time, the location could be the wild card here: not only is it in the Sunset, but it's in the middle of the park (i.e., it's not the most convenient destination for most of San Francisco). Still, Olle Lundberg's design is a beauty and the food promising; according to OpenTable, there are still a good number of tables available for tonight's maiden voyage.
