Just in case you needed (wanted?) a reminder that not even California is a local sustainable Slow Food nation quite yet: last year, a Wal-Mart opened in Napa Junction, and today, the Midwest colonization continues with the grand opening of the Bay Area's first branch of Sonic. The popular chain held its soft opening over the weekend, attracting "drive-in enthusiasts of all ages"; the location is anticipated to be the first of many more local branches.
