Eater Inside: Midi

Financial District: Now open for several weeks is Midi, the latest offering from the Joie de Vivre empire. In the old Perry's space on Sutter Street, the two-level 2,500-square-foot restaurant was stripped down to its bare bones, to be reimagined by designer Michael Guthrie (Myth, Bix).

Upstairs, you've got about 76 seats sprinkled between the main dining room and private areas, while the bar/lounge area adds another 22 seats downstairs. Michelle Mah—who was named a Rising Star Chef in '06 when at Ponzu—is in the kitchen, producing what she calls seasonal brasserie fare.

Further reading on all things Midi can be had in the Eater Archives, and over at the Daily Feed and Chron. And as always, early reports are encouraged, either in the comments below or straight to us.
