The Mission: Now only just a few weeks away is Flour + Water. As of today, the aim is to open on May 15th for dinner, with lunch/brunch/afternoon service getting underway May 25th.
The menu will change daily, but the general breakdown is as follows: six starters, five pizzas, five pastas, three entrees, three sides and among the desserts, custom-made Humphry Slocombe ice cream.
Of course, the shiny 800° F pizza oven is a centerpiece, and dinner service will continue until midnight. So yeah, North Beach might have the pizza density, but with the Delfinas, Arinells and Berettas already in tow, it's probably safe to say that the Mission should retain the city's pizza crown.
