There were earlier reports that the team at Fly Bar & Restaurant will be taking over at Big Nate's BBQ, but we were unsure what would happen with the space.
And now comes news from Fly Bar's Matt Sturm that "Nate's is still going to be Nate's" as Thurman will remain involved with the business. Although some of our tipsters suspected the removal of Nate's memorabilia from the walls was a sign of shutter, turns out it was merely for a paint job and Nate's keepsakes have been returned to their former place of prominence today.
Sturm, Thurman, and third partner, Chris Cronk, plan to release more details on what's in store for Nate's at a later date, but for now we've been assured the same recipes and BBQ cuisine will remain. So don't expect another Fly on Folsom Street any time soon. [EaterWire]
