Nate Appleman Could be Among F&W Best New Chefs

Tomorrow is the official announcement for Food & Wine's annual Best New Chefs, but today, F&W editor-in-chief Dana Cowin is teasing clues as to the identities of the honorees, via Twitter naturally.

Now, as others have already pointed out, getting named is kind of a big deal, with past winners including Thomas Keller, Grant Achatz, David Chang and just last year, Jeremy Fox. So far, Cowin has teased four chefs, including the following: "@fwscout: #BNC Clue #4 Ciao I-95W."

Logic from Eater SF HQ follows: Nate Appleman hasn't won the honor yet, A16 is a freeway in Italy, San Francisco is west of NYC (you're welcome for the geography lesson), and oh, Appleman just happened to be in town as of the weekend.

The list is revealed tomorrow, so we'll just have to wait and see.
