A San Jose grade school student learned this week he is in a finalist in a national cooking competition.
Sam Chamberlain, who is 11 years old and goes to Willow Glen Elementary, is one of five finalists in the Future Chefs: Healthy Snack Challenge competition held by Sodexo.
He already beat out 2,600 entries that flooded in from 535 schools across the country.
The competition encourages students to learn about good nutrition by creating healthy snacks.
