San Francisco Bar Tries to Make Friends With Free Oysters

El Rio serves free oysters every Friday

One Bay Area bar has figured out how to convince people it is a community center. El Rio, in San Francisco's Mission District, offers free food every Friday but not just any food, El Rio is serving up oysters.

Every Friday for the foreseeable future El Rio will serve Tomales Bay oysters free starting at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to be on time because once the oysters run out the free food is gone. But feel free to stay and enjoy some of their other not so free food and drinks. Just be sure to be over 12-years-old because it is still a bar.

"We love nice people," the bar says. "We love kids but can’t allow them because of foolish laws."
