Finally, the other shoe drops on the House of Shields story from mid-January, and it involves Dennis Leary. No not the comedian Dennis Leary but Dennis Leary the chef from the appropriately-named Sentinel next door.
You'll recall that the 100-year-old bar's lease runs out this summer, and per the Scoop, Leary is "in negotiations with the landlord" to take over the place and "restore the city institution to its former glory."
Initial reports were earlier this year that the century-old House of Shields could be nearing the end of its run on New Montgomery Street.
The historic bar's lease runs out in June and word on the street was that the landlord has no intention of renewing it, meaning the current team was going to be definitely out.
