Dolores Park Playground's Shipwrecked Boat Is Coming Spring 2011

As we learn of the earthshaking news that Dolores Park would close entirely for a year and a half, the separate playground renovation project also has news of its own: it's been pushed back a bit. It's certainly not the first delay in the long-in-the-works redo — an earlier web update noted that the groundbreaking had been "pushed back to summer of 2010" to match its cashflow timeline. Now the $3.25 million Koch Landscape Architecture overhaul has been pushed again back to October, with completion targeted for April or May 2011. Not that this concerns any of the adult Dolo Park contingent — still, it's a pretty sweet change of pace checking out renderings that include a "shipwrecked boat."
