Churches and other faith-based groups are confronting the mortgage crisis and the feds headlong. About 500 people packed into an Antioch church last night not to pray for a change in the housing market, but to demand one. The event was a kick-off for Oakland-based group People Improving Communities Through Organizing in their nation-wide quest to stem foreclosures and "stop the bleeding" that's taking down not just individual families, but whole communities.
