He's young, good-looking and for the second year in a row -- extra green.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's efforts to make the City environmentally-friendly have earned him the title of Best Green Mayor from the Web site TreeHugger.

Here's why the site, which covers all things green and sustainable, picked Newsom:

Continuing on his past solid-green efforts, Newsom said and did all the right things when it came to getting ready for the electric car revolution, retrofitting the city's buildings, and expanding the city's use of renewable energy.

The title comes just days before Newsom is set to launch his newest effort to paint the City green. On April 12, he'll announce details on GreenFinanceSF, aimed at helping property owners afford installation of water efficient and renewable energy projects.
