A Pretty Superb Art Museum

Welcome back to another showing of Curbed SF's construction watch for readers, by readers. You ask, we pass. Got an answer to one of these queries? To the comments! Or the tipline! Wondering about some urban carnage? Let us know.

MID-MARKET: A reader inquires about the spiffy Superb Art Museum of America— as fine a name for a building on Market and 6th as we've ever seen. (You have to squint real hard.) Looks recently unwrapped; what's the deal?

What kind of treasures will it house? Shoes? Cell phones? Batteries? A cursory Google search reveals some Buddha-related stuff. Namely:

"The person in charge of the exhibition department of Superb Art Museum of America hurriedly asked H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, 'Could H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III bless the picture frame in the shape of vines in our art museum so that it too shows the state of impermanence and becomes a cultural relic?'" Cool.
