Union Square Lands a New Resident

Marriott opens new San Francisco location

Union Square is getting a shiny new resident.

The Marriott is coming to the heart of the Bay Area's fine cuisine and world-class shopping culture in union square.

Th upscale hotel is located at the corner of Sutter and Powell Streets in downtown San Francisco, within walking distance to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center and directly on the historic Powell Street Cable Car line. The project is headed by FelCor, a real estate investment trust.

"We are very excited about the opening of the San Francisco Marriott Union Square, located in one of the premiere hotel markets in the world," said Richard A. Smith, FelCor's president and chief executive officer. "We are also pleased to expand our relationship with Marriott International."

The hotel has 400 guest rooms and suites, which views of the city and the bay. The 30-story full-service hotel has three floors of concierge rooms, concierge lounge, fitness center, restaurant, Marriott Great Room and meeting space.
