Coming Home Could be Slow

Flight delays of up to 30 minutes are anticipated at San Francisco  International Airport through midday due to low fog in the area, an airport  duty manager said.
     The Federal Aviation Administration implemented a ground delay  program scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. to slow the flow of San  Francisco-bound planes due to fog near the airport, duty manager John Ginty  said.
     Potential delays of incoming flights arriving from locations west  of Denver would subsequently affect outgoing flights, but as of 6:45 a.m.,  arriving flights were on time.
     Ginty said after 11 a.m. passengers could experience delays of up  to 30 minutes. The program, which would last until 1 p.m., could be lifted  before then if the inclement weather improves.
     Although conditions were similar on Saturday, Ginty said there was  no program implemented because there are fewer scheduled flights on  Saturdays.
     "Sunday we have a pretty full schedule," he said. "Hopefully it  will all burn off like yesterday."
