Marin Residents Wonder Where Summer Went

Marin County's unseasonably cool summer has some residents steamed

Think of the tomatoes.

The summer vacation for residents of Marin County was a break without its season, as the incredibly hot weather in the rest of the United States has kept things cool in the North Bay, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

That's meant fog along the coast, an unseasonably cool 75-85 degree range in places that normally see triple digits at least a few times during the summer, and Marin residents wondering where their summer went.

Beach-goers from the Central Valley and elsewhere were interviewed by the newspaper wearing sweatshirts and other beach attire familiar to coastal Californians. Surf shops' business are down, and water consumption is even up, according to the newspaper. Though some folks are doing ok. "We had some sun last week, but it has been pretty cold," said Natalia Vergara, who was busy selling proper drinks to the beach-goers: warm lattes and mochas.
