Major League Baseball recently announced that a team of MLB All Stars would travel to Taiwan to compete against the Chinese Taipei national team in the 2011 Taiwan All-Star Series.
The coach of that team? None other than the Giants Bruce Bochy, MLB announced on Friday.
Joining Bochy will be Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval, among other MLB players.
Sandoval joins the likes of Miguel Cabrera, Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson in filling out MLB's roster for the six-day, five-game exhibition series in early November.
This is MLB's first trip to Taiwan since March of 2010, when the Dodgers played the Chinese All Stars.
Bochy's coaching staff will consist of Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, Giants bullpen catcher Billy Hayes, Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, and Tampa Bay hitting coach Derek Shelton.
