Santa Clara Parade of Champions

Welcome back Santa Clara Parade of Champions: a 50-year-old Tradition returns!

Who doesn’t love a Parade? Since 1945 Santa Clarans have loved their Parade of Champions. The original event brought the whole town together to welcome home our WWII heroes and champions. From that day on, under the leadership of Larry Marsalli, Ed Cunha and the YMI (Young Men’s Institute), it became an annual tradition that celebrated our shared values of community building, family, education, charity, volunteerism and civic pride. Over the span of 50 years, the parade grew into the second largest in the State of California—at its peak.

Fast Forward to this coming Saturday, September 28, 2019, Santa Clara Parade of Champions (SCPOC) will relaunch its beloved Parade with the support from the City of Santa Clara for city services. Entertainment and Festivities will run throughout the day from 8 am to 3pm. The Parade will start at 11 am and end at 1pm. Our “Homestead Community Village” will have booths for non-profits, and community centric organizations to share programs that showcase our diverse culture and arts, products and services—interactive games and raffles too. Sign up online to reserve—first come first served.

Enjoy the Farmer’s market multicultural food stalls, live music, or shop the stores and restaurants at Franklin Square—it’s a day of discovery, celebrating, community building, and family fun in the heart of historic downtown Santa Clara.
