A new SF musical debuts a groundbreaking all-Filipino cast

California Live’s Jobeth Devera sits down with Billy Bustamante, director and choreographer of “Larry the Musical: An American Journey.” The theatrical performance tells the little-known story of Filipino American activist Larry Itliong, who organized and led protests for equal pay and dignified living conditions for farm workers throughout the West Coast and Alaska. This production is a labor of love, created by a 100% Filipino American creative team (working professionals with day jobs), who are committed to telling this powerful story.
