Many of us know the tragic story of Tejano pop star Selena, killed at a young age by the president of her fan club. But there’s much more to the story, as Jess found out by talking to Ricardo Chavira, who plays Selena’s father in Netflix’s new ‘Selena: The Series’. He discusses his deep connection to South Texas, diversity within the cast and writing room that attracted him to the role, and what he hopes those who aren’t familiar with Selena take away from the series.
