Bike theft is a big problem in cities, with people having to struggle to keep their bikes adequately locked up on the street. But this brilliant design by Kevin Scott makes locking up a bike much easier.
Scott's bike uses a ratcheting mechanism in the frame to allow it to turn from stiff to bendable. And when it's bendable, it can literally be wrapped around a pole to be locked up, making it much harder to steal.
Whether or not the mechanism is really practical remains to be seen, but you've gotta love such a clever solution to the problem of bike theft.
