FINANCIAL DISTRICT—Vintage 415's newest project, Taverna Aventine, will be open tonight, tomorrow and Saturday for drinks only. Food service—we'll refer you to Thrillist for the menu—is still slated to roll out on Monday, the 20th of October. More on Aventine can be had in its Fall Tracking Report. [EaterWire]

SANTANA ROW—The second annual Pear & Wine Festival takes place this weekend down in the South Bay, and none other than Ms. Giada De Laurentiis will make an appearance. At noon on Sunday, she'll hold a Q&A session, followed by a book signing of her new cookbook. Important: it's a ticketed event; for details, check the site or call Sur La Table at (408) 244-4749. FERRY BUILDING—Because Pier 1/2 is out of commission, Ferry Building vendors are getting squeezed on the parking front by the parking meters. A "boisterous two-hour meeting" was held last week in which farmers and vendors revealed that they've been getting $85 tickets while unloading their goods on Saturdays and Tuesdays. [SFE]

THE INTERNETS—Sometimes, there are no words: "Pizza Hut has added the social network Facebook to its array of choices for delivery orders. It joins the mobile Web, text messaging, a desktop widget, the chain's own Web site, and of course, the telephone as methods for consumers to easily order their pizza pies ... it is one of only a few companies using a Facebook application for ordering food, and the only pizza chain to do so."
