Filmmaker Hunts Down World's Most Trafficked Animal

When Katie Schuler learned millions of pangolins are slaughtered and sold for their meat and scales, she set out on a search to find one in the wild. After many years, on a bug-infested river in West Africa, the filmmaker finally came face to face with a wild pangolin, a scaly mammal which, after 70 million years on the planet, is near extinction.
